Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits Against American Medical Systems (AMS)

Multiple women in the United States have filed personal injury lawsuits against American Medical Systems (AMS) after incurring serious injury or disfigurement from AMS vaginal mesh or bladder slings.

According to the FDA, American Medical Systems (AMS) transvaginal mesh and bladder slings can lead to serious and sometimes permanent injury.  Following more than 2,874 reports of vaginal mesh complications and injuries in just one year, the FDA has issued a number of Public Health Communications warning women and their doctors of the serious risks associated with vaginal mesh and bladder slings, some of which were manufactured by AMS.

According to the pending lawsuit claims, AMS vaginal mesh and bladder slings are the cause of life-altering injuries.  Some of the complications associated with AMS vaginal mesh include:

  • Erosion of the mesh into the vagina
  • Perforation of the bladder
  • Uterus perforation
  • Intestine perforation
  • Pain during sex
  • Painful urination
  • Granuloma formation
  • Infection
  • Incontinence
  • Fistulas
  • Recurrence of pelvic organ prolapse

In a number of dangerous medical device lawsuits, injured women claim that AMS failed to adequately warn them of the very serious dangers linked to their vaginal mesh and bladder slings.
